Mary Krahn Obituary

Mary was born to Robert and Rose Andrealli and grew up on the family farm near Carnation, Washington, with her older siblings Lena, Robert and Dino.

She married Robert (Bob) Krahn of Portland in 1948. They lived in Portland where Bob worked for the Corp of Engineers Hydroelectric Design Branch. Bob, Mary; son, Rick; and daughter, Susan lived in the Wilson Park neighborhood.

Mary received a BFA from the University of Colorado at Denver where she and Bob lived for several years. She was a docent at the Portland Art Museum upon their return to Portland in 1981. She was active in helping to raise her three grandsons, Ben Anderson, Joey Anderson and Andrew Krahn.

Rick and Susan are especially grateful for the compassionate care she received at Pacific Gardens Care Center in NE Portland.

Mary was a warm and gracious person who always found time to listen while others did most of the talking. Hers was a life well lived, dedicated to family, her Catholic faith and making the world a better place.

Her private burial was next to Bob, who passed in 2009, at Willamette National Cemetery. A remembrance mass in her honor will be at St. Clare’s Church at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May l.
