January 30, 1941 ~ May 10, 2013 (age 72)
Went to work for the Oliver Tractor Corporation. Joined and traveled with the Army for 20 years. Worked in the Public Affairs Office, U.S. Army, Hawaii. Took an Army display to fairs in Hawaii. Worked at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, DC. Worked in the Office of the Under Secretary of the Army, Pentagon. Worked in the Office of the Commanding General, U.S. Army, Vietnam. Worked in the office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Pentagon. Went to the Comptroller’s Office, U.S. Army, Okinawa. Also worked at the U.S. Army, Pacific Logistics Training Facility there. Married Hiroko (Miki) Oshiro. Son, Tony and daughter, Carol born. Went to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel, 21st Support Command, Germany. Retired from the Army 1980. Worked at the Portland VA Medical Center for 25 years. Worked in Human Resources, Computer Center, Dialysis Unit and Emergency Room. My wife has worked at the VA Medical for 25 years in Housekeeping and Food Service. Our son works for Providence Health Plans. Our son’s wife is a dental hygienist. We enjoy babysitting our twin grandsons. Our daughter lives in Texas where she is a flight attendant with Continental Airlines. We have visited Miki’s sister in Tokyo. While in Germany, we traveled to Paris; San Remo, Italy; and other places. I had a short assignment to NATO headquarters in Belgium.
A funeral service will be held at Riverview Abbey Funeral Home, 3 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013.

We knew ‘chuck’ Hansen and his family while station in Germany. I found chuck on facebook again a little over a year age. What a wonderful person he was.

Charles you are such a good man through out your life.You have done a very tough job, Charles. Surely that you will be missed with your friends through out the entire world. You are my “HERO”. Condolence to your family and May you Rest in Peace.
