Donald Crowder Obituary

Donald Lee Crowder was born March 16, 1932.

Don Crowder of Elsie passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on February 19, 2012 with his granddaughters by his side. He was born in Portland to Clifford and Alice Crowder. Don was the oldest of two sons and is survived by his brother, Sherman Crowder.

Don was married to his high school sweetheart, Janet Hofmann, in 1953. From their 37 year marriage they were blessed with two children, Marc Crowder and Linda Crowder-Hicks.

Don served in the Navy from 1951-1953 on the USS Pilot and was given honors for his Naval Occupation Service. His name is forever carved in the Oregon Korean War Memorial. He was a Mason and Shriner.

Janet left this world early on Aug. 28, 1990.

Don is survived by son, Marc Crowder; daughter, Linda Crowder-Hicks; five granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. Don also leaves behind former wife, Grace McMillan.

Funeral, 10 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Riverview Abbey, 0319 SW Taylors Ferry Rd, Portland 97219.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children Hospital.
