December 14, 1927 ~ June 19, 2021 (age 93)
Virginia (Jeannie) Evelyn Pfeifer was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away peacefully at her home on June 19, 2021 with her family by her side.
Jeannie was born to Joseph and Josephine McKenna on December 14, 1927 in Portland, Oregon. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated in 1947. She worked at The Oregonian and then Sawyers. In 1958 she met her husband Donald (Don) Pfeifer through the Chancellor’s Club and they were married on June 27, 1959. Together, they had three children, Cheryl, Kevin and Janet.
Jeannie enjoyed traveling with family and friends; she cherished her time spent with family, she was an active member of the Catholic Church, participating in the women’s altar guild and funeral ministry. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
A service will be held for Jeannie on Wednesday, June 30th, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Milwaukie, Oregon. A Rosary will be held at 10:30AM with the funeral mass following at 11:00AM.
Survived by her husband of 62 years Don, daughter Cheryl (Joe) Pointer, son Kevin (Cindy) Pfeifer, daughter Janet Pfeifer; eight grandchildren: Rian, Brandon (Jenny), Courtney (Earl), Jacob (Lindsey), Sarah (Terrell), Aila (Chris), Anna (Forrest), and Jace.
