Jerry Donald Poli was born in San Francisco to Anita Poli and Joaquin Palomino. Jerry graduated from Galileo High School, after which he served in the Air Force from 1952-1956 as a cryptographer and then returned to San Francisco where he completed Bachelor degrees in business and transportation at Golden Gate College.
Jerry worked in the transportation industry for various trucking companies for over 40 years. He retired in 2002 from Yellow Freight, where he was the Sales Manager.
On April 7, 1967 he married Shirley Ivey and they had two children, Jennifer and Robert. He is survived by them, as well as his grandchildren, Samuel and Anna.

Jerry died at Hopewell House, July 15, 2018 from prostate cancer.
Jerry will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his generosity, intelligence and love for his family, friends, animals, the San Francisco 49ers and Giants.
A service will be held for Jerry at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018, at St. John Fisher in Portland.
