Marcia M. Whelan passed away April 6, 2018, of natural causes at the age of 90.
Marcia was born in Oakland, California, to Wayne and Julia McCorkle. She was raised in Berkeley, California, where she would later attend The University of California Berkeley.
Prior to attending Cal she met her future husband, Bill Whelan. He was attending Cal and was the fraternity brother of her sisters boyfriend. Marcia graduated from Cal with a Liberal Arts degree and after Bill returned from WWII where he fought, they were married November 14, 1948. They remained happily married until his death last year.
Marcia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill and her beloved grandson, Robert William Burke.
She is survived by her children, Greer Gooding and Skip, Annie Atkinson and Monte and Daniel Whelan.
A celebration of her life will be held in the near future. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
