Romayne Zurk Obituary

Romayne H. Zurk passed peacefully, at age 87, on December 19, 2017. Romayne was survived by her daughter, Lisa Zurk.

Romayne was born as Romayne Schneider in Chicago, IL, on March 31, 1930, and lived there in her youth before she met and married Daniel Zurk, who would be her husband of 62 years until his death in 2013.

After many years of living in the Boston area and raising a family, Dan and Romyne moved to Arizona and eventually to Oregon, where they both ultimately resided at the Mary’s Woods Retirement Community.

Romayne was surrounded by the love and attention of the Mary’s Woods staff and community during her last years, and especially enjoyed the Wednesday afternoon bus ride. Romyane was very religious and was often found peacefully saying her rosary.

She was a die-hard sports fan, especially for the New England Patriots and her beloved “drop-dead gorgeous Tom Brady”. She was a loving wife, and mother, and will be missed for her gentleness, persistence, and good cheer.

Services will be in private.
