June 2, 1929 ~ June 5, 2017 (age 88)
Dan attended Madeleine Grade School, Columbia Prep High School, and he graduated from the University of Portland in 1951 with a degree in Business.
Dan served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean War.
In 1960, Dan met Ella Delos Santos from Hawaii at a wedding reception at the University of Portland one week before she would graduate from there. On May 9, 1964 they were married. It was the start of a wonderful 53 year marriage together.
Dan worked in numerous capacities at Niedermeyer-Martin Company, a family owned lumber firm. In addition, he pursued many interests including gardening, reading, and spending time with his family.
Dan is survived by his wife, Ella; his son Danny (Karen), daughter Victoria White (Tim), son Theodore (Colleen), and seven grandchildren: Megan, Daniel, Katie, Molly, Michael, Joe, and Ella. He is also survived by his sisters Mary, Ruthie, and Jeannie; and his brothers Linus and James.
Dan was predeceased by his brothers Ben Jr., George, Walt, Ed, Jack, and Tom, and his sisters Katie, Virginia, and Tessie.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM, June 17, 2017 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A Rosary Service will be held the night before at 7 PM, June 16, 2017 at the same church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Daniel H. Niedermeyer to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3525 S.W. Patton Rd., Portland, OR 97221.

Ella and the Niedermeyer family has my deepest sympathy for the loss of Dan recently in death. John 6:40 Our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Psalm 34:18 The family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences.
