September 2, 1933 ~ April 29, 2017 (age 83)
Donn was born in Los Angeles on September 2, 1933. He was the second child of Emily and Thiel Sullivan and is survived by his siblings Thiel, Terry and Emily Ann. He attended Loyola High School, and Loyola University in LA, before transferring to the University of Oregon. While at Oregon he met and later married Joan Elizabeth Dundore. They were married on December 27, 1958. They raised three sons; Donn Michael Sullivan Jr., Brian Dundore Sullivan and Christopher Sean Sullivan. Donn had a special bond with his daughter-in-Laws, Kathleen, Chryste and Holly and was extremely proud of all of his grandchildren: Ryan, Colleen, Ramsey, Eian, Reece and Thomas. Donn forged his deep love of the University of Oregon while lettering in football and track under the incredible guidance of legends, Cas and Bowerman. Donn was passionate about sports and fostered the undeniable competitive spirit in his children and grandchildren.
Real estate was a passion for Donn. He entered the commercial real estate industry in 1956 when he was hired by Commonwealth Inc. to oversee the development of Cedar Hills. He retired as a Senior VP at Newmark, Grubb, Knight, Frank, where he had succeeded since 1998.
Donn’s bone crushing handshake was his calling card and he devoted his time and talents volunteering in a variety of ways. He loved the Jesuit Community and especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete and grow in that spiritual environment. He was member of the Oregon Club, DAF, SIOR, CAR, BOMA, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and a devout parishioner at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church where he bestowed the importance of faith in his children. Donn loved the Ducks and he still hates the Huskies.
He will be missed by all those who knew him and his sense of humor, loyalty, dedication to doing things the right way and his uncompromising work ethic will be a standard for all to strive for.
