Her parents were Alex and Margret Campbell
She is survived by her husband Arthur Lomax, sister Robin Bender & family, Step-daughter Shelley Lomax, sister-in-law Jacquie Mantyla.
She died suddenly of cardiac arrest.
A lover of sports cars and owner of a 1961 Austin Healey Sprite {Bug eye} her and Arthur had many car shows, rallies, and Sunday drives that would take them on adventures around the Northwest. Her other passion was traveling the world with the love of her life to pursue his passion of scuba diving. Arthur could always count on her ladyship to be by the pool reading a romance novel or relaxing with a massage!
She was a master strip quilt maker, creating whimsical and unique designs that reflected popular culture with a strong emotional connection to each quilt. Family and friends were blessed to receive their own special creations, some just for fun and others to comfort us in times of need. She often gave quilts to nursing home residents without family, sick children and most dear to her heart cancer patients. Laurel was a 17 year survivor of Breast Cancer which she tackled with grace and unending positivity.
Laurel had many unusual adventures and was always excited to share a story, share a laugh with those she loved and cherished. She will be missed deeply. The world was a better place with her in it and many are better for having known and loved her.
