Evert F. Clark was born February 20, 1926, in Bend, to Merle and Elma (Lambert) Clark, the second eldest of three brothers and three sisters. He grew up in Bend, attended Allen Elementary School and graduated from Bend High School, where he was known as the “Mercury of the track field.”

Evert joined the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II and he later served in the U.S. Army in occupied Japan. He married Dorothy Warren on August 14, 1949, in Pendleton. He graduated in business administration from Oregon State University in 1952. Evert was employed by the First National Bank (later First Interstate Bank) until 1974, when he began his career as a real estate broker for Tri West Properties, Sierra Vista Realty and Paul Bunyan Homes. He owned Galaxy Real Estate Company.

He loved fishing and hunting and especially enjoyed camping trips with his family at Yellowjacket Lake in Eastern Oregon. He and his sons were avid sports fans and for several years he coached their baseball, basketball and track teams.

He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy; sons, Ron (Angela) and their daughter, Bailey, and Dan (Suzanne) and their children, Cameron (Kayla), Cayla and Crista; twin daughters, Marilyn Clark and Carolyn Clark Peck (Dana) and their son, John; siblings, Dale, Vern and Mel Clark and Lois Clemens; and many nieces; nephews; and friends.
