He served as a sergeant in World War II and had a successful career as a CPA with Yergen and Meyer, LLP in Portland.
He was married for 60 years to Mary Beltz McGee until her death in 2006.
John is survived by his children, Dan (Adair), Marianne and Nancy; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His son, John, died in 2000.
His family will celebrate his life privately.
