Anne Collins Obituary

Anne Mary was born August 6, 1924, in Portland, to Ernest and Anna Blatner. She was the fourth of five kids: George, Joseph (d. 1994), Margaret M. (Sorich) and Ernest J.

She attended Jefferson High School, where she met John B. Collins. They were married shortly after John’s return from the U.S. Navy Officer Training School in 1946.

An avid tennis player, she also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. Anne was involved with several charities including Albertina Kerr and the Assistance League.

She is survived by her children, Stephen M. (Lynda), Thomas F., Christine A. (Brian Loud), John B. II (Joey); seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, John (2012); sons, Michael M. (1981) and Daniel B. (2013).

A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Thomas More.
