October 3, 1926 ~ June 23, 2015 (age 88)
After graduation from high school she worked for Lipman & Wolf as a sales associate for 2 years and then for an insurance company until she met Bob at a dance in Portland. A tall striking military man caught her eye and the rest is history. On Sept. 8th, 1951 she married Bob Kristan and spent the next 60 years being a homemaker in West Linn.
They were very blessed with 3 children, Kathy (Scott) Buttles; Carol (Ken) VanDomelen; Ken (Michelle) and 10 very loved grandchildren, Ed, Justin, Melinda, Tony, Kristan, Thomas, Beto, Karen, Colin & Courtney. Three great-grandchildren, Rachel, Nate & Lily were the extra blessings.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Mary Stachniewicz; and son, Ken.
Betty was a devoted godly woman; her faith and fellowship with the friends from Our Lady of the Lake Parish were the center of her life. We will all very much miss you, until we meet again…..
Please join us Thursday, July 2nd at 11am at Our Lady of the Lake in Lake Oswego for a celebration of life, with a reception following in the Parish Hall.
Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lake Oswego.
The family suggests that contributions may be made to Catholic Charities in Betty’s memory.

Hello Kathy & Carol,
My name is Tina Gatto Jarvis, and my mother is Frances Frangipani Gatto. Her mother was Mary Hantak Frangipani, your mother’s cousin. We are so very sorry for your loss, and we want to send our condolences to both of you and your family
My grandmother and mom thought very highly of your mom, dad, your Aunt Mary and her husband. Our lives have become very busy and my mom feels terrible that she lost touch with both of them. My parents are now 87 years old and it’s become harder for them to get around.
I’ve have been working on my family tree and was wondering once things settles down, if you would be able to help me with some family information on your mother’s side. I would love to know their parents’ names, where they were born, date of passing etc. Perhaps you may even have photographs of your grandmother and my great-grandmother together. Please feel free to contact me at my email address tinagattojarvis@gmail.com.
Augie and I send our deepest sympathy your way. May God bless you during this difficult time.
Augie & Frances Gatto
