She is survived by her son Mark Praigg, of Houston, Texas, daughter Jody Praigg Harper of Lake Oswego, former son-in-law and dear family friend Joe Harper of Woodburn, Oregon, sister Flora Lambert of Glendale, California, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born in Denver, Colorado, she grew up in Pasadena, California, and attended Pasadena City College. She married Nelson S. Praigg, Jr. in 1951 who predeceased her in 2001. She was also predeceased by her daughter Karen Praigg in 1982. She raised her family in Pasadena and Newport Beach, moved to Costa Mesa in 1978 and retired to Oceanside in 1998. She served as an administrative assistant at Carden Academy in Huntington Beach until her retirement.

After the death of her husband, she moved to Lake Oswego in 2005. In Oceanside, she was active in the Humane Society and Questers, an organization devoted to antiques. Betty Praigg was an accomplished cook and host. She will be sorely missed by her family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 19, at 1 pm in the Courtyard Room of Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, 4040 Sunset Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. The Rev. Robin Garvin will officiate.
