Betty was born August 16, 1930 to R. Dale and Mildred McCullugh in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved with her family, including brother Robert, to Portland in 1934. Betty attended Madeleine High School and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy.
She married her husband of 59 years, Marko Susnjara in 1952 and five children soon followed. Betty loved being with and around her family, whether at the many large family gatherings or on family vacations to Seaside and Sunriver. While she raised her children she was active in many parish activities, most recently with St. Vincent DePaul.
