August 2, 1939 ~ August 14, 2016 (age 77)
Chester Emanuel Klock, Jr., 77, of Lake Oswego, OR passed away at home on August 14, 2016.
Chet was born in Portland, OR on August 2, 1939 to Mae and Chester Klock, Sr. He married the love of his life, Dixie Anne Scapple on July 28, 1959. They shared an exceptional bond of marriage for nearly 50 years until her passing in the spring of 2009; his undying love for her grew stronger each and every day they were apart.
Chet graduated from Tigard High School in 1957 and went on to attend college at the University of Oregon. Although his time in Eugene was cut short he developed a lifelong passion for U of O athletics and thoroughly enjoyed friendly banter with all those who wore opposing colors. From 1960 to 1983 Chet partnered with his father to form C.E. Klock & Son Construction Company general contracting, public building construction. He spent a few years away from construction and eventually found his home at Walsh Construction Company in 1987 where he served in many roles up until his passing. Chet genuinely touched the lives of those he worked with.
He enjoyed traveling, jewelry making, Native American culture and especially loved to spend time with his family. Chet was a best friend, provider, benefactor, mentor and voice of reason to many. He was a kindhearted soul who truly found his greatest joy in helping others.
Chet is survived by his son, Eric Klock and his wife Tiffany; granddaughter, Colbi Klock; nephew, Michael Scapple; niece, Reiko Haupt.
