February 21, 1963 ~ September 9, 2014 (age 51)
Chris embraced life with an open heart for everyone he met, wicked sense of humor and passion for adventure. His many interests included playing hockey and golf, riding his Harley and playing his guitar. He was an enthusiastic supporter, and often coach, of the boys’ many sports teams. He valued his marriage and family above all else.
Chris was born February 21, 1963, in Boston, to Marianne (DeMarco) White and Vernon Edward White and raised in Needham, Massachusetts. Christopher was the beloved brother to Karen White-Trevino of Pace, Florida, Jeremiah White of Needham and Damian White (1965-1993).
He graduated from St. Sebastian’s High School and received a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston. Chris and Amy moved to Orlando, Florida, in 1992 before moving to Portland in 1996. Christopher was a member of the American Institute of Architects and an associate principal at Opsis Architecture, Portland, where he led significant projects at Oregon State and Western Oregon universities and acted as a mentor and manager with more than 23 years of experience in engineering and architecture.
A memorial mass and reception will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. Clare Parish in Southwest Portland. Christopher’s funeral Mass and burial will be held next week at St. Anthony’s Parish in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, near his cherished family home in Cape Cod.
