November 6, 1945 ~ October 11, 2024 (age 78)
Clark Charles Wallace, aged 78, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. Born on November 6, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, Clark was known for his kind and gentle manner. He was a man who was always smiling and ready to help others at a moment’s notice.
Clark spent his early years in Des Moines where he attended Park Avenue Grade School, Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and was a member of Boy Scout Troup 26 where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Lincoln High School and was on the swim team, the track team and played football. He went on to achieve a Science degree from the University of Iowa.
Clark proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years where he maintained the electronics on F-111 fighter jets at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist, contributing significantly to companies such as American Republic Insurance Company in Des Moines and Tektronix, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon.
Clark specifically moved to Oregon in 1973 to fly fish for trout and steelhead. His favorite place was Marion Lake on the Pacific Crest Trail in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness because of its beauty, peacefulness and great fishing.
Clark is survived by his identical twin brother Mark Robert Wallace and younger sister Shelly Wallace Veach. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack H. Wallace, his mother, Claire Jean Wallace Clark, and his older sister Becky Wallace Crowley.
A private family gathering will be held to honor Clark’s life and legacy. While no specific instructions for charitable contributions were provided, those wishing to honor Clark may consider a gesture that reflects his life and interests.

Dear family. I am so sorry that Clark has passed. My memories of him are from childhood. He was a kind and quiet soul. He had a wonderful. I know the last few years had been difficult for him. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
My condolences to Mark and Shelly on the loss of your brother Clark. The only memories I have of Clark are the family videos that I’ve watched when the twins would pop up from behind the couch and make funny faces. I guess that would be called a photo bomb in today’s terms. My prayers are with you that the God of all comfort will be in the depth of your great loss and grief.

I was just a little guy when my first memories of Mark and Clark were formed. They were my cousins and were about 8 years older than me. We had our Christmas get togethers at our Grandparents house and it was such a great time and large gathering. The twins always set an example for the the of us to follow. To Mark and Shelly, I’m so sorry for your loss. We will be praying for all. Scott Wallace
Shelly and Mark and family. My love and prayers to each of you through this difficult time. Such a great loss as you miss with great sorrow through the days ahead. My beautiful memory of my cousin Clark. I am a younger cousin and because we lived away only have a few precious memories but one that stands out is one of our visits of when I stayed with you all. Shelly and I were heading into a room that was dark. Well Clark and Mark were hiding to scare us as we walked in! Well, screams of fright and laughter!! Clark’s contagious smile and fun loving spirit still brings me joy. My love and prayers to you all as you miss him. Love, prayers and hugs from cousin, Lindy Jean.
