Dennis Pressley Obituary

On Monday, May 24, 2021, Dennis G. Pressley passed away at age 69.

Dennis was born on September 18, 1951, in Ontario, Oregon. He was third in line in a blended family of five siblings, four brothers and one sister. In those early days in Ontario he loved to go fishing with his Grandpa.

Dennis graduated high school, attended some classes at Portland State University, and eventually enlisted in the Air Force rising to the rank of Sergeant and working in Air Force security. When he returned to civilian life, Dennis attended culinary school leading to jobs at two well known Portland establishments, Stanich’s West and the Horse Brass Pub, where he loved to laugh and share a story with friends and strangers alike.

Dennis loved reading, a good sci-fi movie, watching all kinds of sports, and when he was able, a round of golf with his brother Steven and his friend Kelly. His quirky sense of humor and conversation will be missed; the universe is a little quieter.

The sounding of Taps and presentation of the flag will take place Monday, July 12, 2021, at 2:30 p.m., Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Scott Blvd., Happy Valley, OR 97806

Uncle Dennis had the best laugh and always livened up a room when he entered. His spirit drew others out of their shells and put smiles on their faces which is a pretty special quality. My memories of him will forever be joyous â¤ï¸

Will always remember that deep deep laugh, amazing food, and a never-ending list of sci-fi recommendations. Uncle Dennis had the singular gift of lighting up even the darkest rooms with his humor and friendship, and Iâ€™ll always try and remember that spirit and keep it with me. Love you always uncle D!

Being with my brother-in-law Dennis was always the best of times. He was fun, and funny, and always made me laugh. He had great stories that he told well and he enjoyed them as much as we all did. The world needed him.

Thought about you all day today, on what shouldve been your 70th birthday. Sure wish we couldve shared some cake and a laugh. And, maybe a Guinness or two.
