Dolly Hoffman Obituary

Dolly passed away peacefully in the morning of August 25, 2014, in Portland. Dolly was born in Winslow, Arizona.

The third child and only daughter of four to Casimiro and Emma Vigil, Dolly met her first husband, Frederick M. Rasmussen in California and married in 1943. Frederick was killed in a car accident in Olympia in 1968. Subsequently, she met her second husband, Lewis Hoffman, in Eugene and married in 1971. Lewis passed away in 1998.

Dolly was one of the founders of the Assistance League of Eugene. This service organization provides dental services and clothing to needy children of Lane County. She and Lewis volunteered many years to the organization. She was also involved in the Women’s Lane County Republican Party. She enjoyed hiking, traveling and Saturday night dancing with Lewis at the Elks Club.

She is survived by her children, Janette Piersall, Steven Rasmussen and Frederick A. Rasmussen; and brothers, Homer Virgil and Herb Virgil.

A public viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 and Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Riverview Abbey Funeral Home in Portland.
