Dr. Gregory K. Roduner died on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. He was 70 years old.
Greg was born in Walla Walla, Washington on June 24, 1941. He was raised in Milton-Freewater by his mother, Lois Johnson Roduner, a piano teacher.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from University of Oregon he went on to study medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. While there, he met Patricia “Patsy” Panton. Greg and Patsy were married in 1966 and shortly thereafter moved to San Jose, Calif. for his medical internship. In 1968, they moved to Kanehoe, Hawaii where he served as a medical officer in the Navy. While in Hawaii, their daughters, Amy and Cassie were born. Upon returning to Portland, Greg practiced general surgery at Legacy Emmanuel. In 1974, their son, Ted was born.
In 1976, Greg opened a private plastic surgery practice where he worked until he retired in 2005. Greg was a loving caregiver to his wife, Pat during her two year battle with cancer that ended in 1996. Greg married Kathy Wetherell in 2001.
During his retirement, Greg enjoyed traveling abroad with Kathy, playing golf, rooting for the Ducks, cooking, gardening and walking his beloved dogs.
Greg leaves behind his wife, Kathy Roduner; daughters, Amy Gray (David) and Cassie Stevenson (Marshall); son, Ted Roduner (Deanna); grandchildren, Will and Meg Stevenson; stepchildren, Ken Wetherell (Denise) and Sheri Wetherell (Barnaby Dorfman); and step-grandchildren, Calen, James, Anna Wetherell and Emery Wetherell-Dorfman.
A memorial service celebrating Greg’s life will take place at the Multnomah Athletic Club at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Legacy Hospice.
