Dylan Brasky Obituary

Dylan Michael Brasky was born to Crystal Lish and Jerod Brasky on October 24, 2007 in Portland Oregon. His life was tragically taken in the early hours of June 25, 2024. He was just 16 years old.

Dylan grew up in Portland where he attended public school and recently attended Ida B, Wells High School in S.W. Portland.

He was a kind, smart and funny young man with a big heart who always cared for others. His love of fishing was evident from an early age. Besides fishing, camping, drawing and video games Dylan loved skateboarding and had many friends he would hang out with in the local skate park.

Dylan is survived by his mother Crystal Lish of Portland and by his father Jerod Brasky & Stephanie Wilcox also of Portland.  Also surviving are his Grandmother Karen Brasky of Bay City, OR, Grandparents Denny and Sharon Lish of Mesa AZ, Great Grandmother Mary Emmons, and Great Grandfather Albert Fazio. He had many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dylan words cannot even begin to express how much I love you and how much you’re going to be missed, it’s not even completely real to me yet 16 years ago I was holding you is just a little baby and I can’t even believe that I will not get to hug you again I love you so much Dylan my PP pp yellow bear there’s not a day that will go by that I’m not thinking of you love forever and always your mom

Dylan brought so much joy and laughter into my world. I am so sad that he didn’t get the chance to grown into adulthood. I know he would have been an amazing man. He had some struggles in his short life but has had an amazing resiliency like I’ve never seen. I will miss him deeply. He’s gone from this world but never ever forgotten and I’ll see him in the next world. 💔 love always his Nana.

I met Dylan when he was in 6th grade. I remember skating, fishing, gaming, and more with Dylan. I remember him laughing and spreading joy everywhere he was. I remember him carrying a lint roller everywhere. I remember him cleaning my room because something looked off. I remember him being excited for me whenever I showed him a new clip I got, or fish I caught. I remember sharing food with him, and all the funny things he would do. I remember his screams as we are reeling a sturgeon in, and how happy he looked. He always spread more joy than I thought was possible. He will forever be loved and remembered.

Dylan was loved by everyone he met he could light up a room just by being in it. I remember meeting him in middle school and seeing him skate when I first started skating. We became friends at school when I would see him in the halls and we would always talk. We became closer a year or two later and he would come over to my house or we would go to someone else’s house almost every night for a while. My favorite memories of Dylan will be us fishing together. Dylan was truly like a brother to me I will miss him forever. I love you Dyla

I am Dylan’s Grandpa. Dylan called me Papa. I remember when Dylan was a toddler his Mom Crystal and grandma (Nana) wanted to have me watch Dylan for a few hours while they went shopping. “NO PROBLEM” I started working on a small compressor, taking it apart. Dylan was right there with me as he loved tools and always wanted to help. As we were working together my son Devin called. The phone was in the other room about 10′ away. We talked for about 5 minutes and Dylan got really quiet. I went to check on him, he was still working on it. I went back to my phone call. 2 to 3 minutes later I told my son Dylan is just to quiet I need to call you back. I went in the living room, DYLAN WAS GONE! I frantically called for him, looking in every room. The front door was slightly opened, I ran outside. We have a very large back yard. As I was running and yelling for Dylan through the backyard into my big shed I glanced over my shoulder and noticed the front gate was open. My heart was about to beat out of my chest, I was scared. I ran down the driveway still yelling his name our driveway is over a hundred feet long. I thought to myself, no he would not have gone into the street. I looked to the left and ran to the corner. Looked to the right and about a hundred yards down the road was Dylan running into the school playground wearing only a diaper. Kids were playing in the playground. I yelled “Dylan STOP!!” He ran faster, as I caught up to him I grabbed Dylan in my arms and hugged him… “your in big trouble” I said. He looked at me, smiled and hugged me back. We then played till he got tired. I thanked God for protecting Dylan.
Now… HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS TO MOM AND NANA….. Even at a young age he was very adventurous. Dylan I love you!! There will always be a empty place in my heart! 💔

I met Dylan at our Skate night ministry back in 2019 or 2020 – he was just a happy kid that loved skateboarding.

He was a regular and we always loved having him there. I am stoked to have known him for the few short years that we did.

Dylan was such an awesome part of that skate night community – we miss you Dylan!!!

Hi I am Mortimer Dylan’s Great Great Grandpa. He called me Grandpapapa. Dylan was a wonderful young man, especially when he wasn’t driving around in stolen cars!

I can’t recall most of my childhood but there are still some memories and pictures. Dylan was my first ever friend, my bestfriend. Over the years we hadn’t spoken, but I always remember him being silly, funny and just overall full of so much joy and fun to be around. It breaks my heart that we are all still so young. Dylan will forever be in our hearts and on our minds.

Rest in peace 🕊️🤍. I love you!! My prayers and condolences for everyone affected from this loss. Losing a loved one is never easy, especially so young…
