Edwin Strader Obituary

Edwin Charles “Ted” Strader was born Jan. 20, 1955 and passed away peacefully in his sleep January 14, 2020 in Portland. Ted was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles J. and Carol Dwyer Strader.

Ted grew up in Lake Oswego where he attended Our Lady of the Lake Grade School. He graduated from Jesuit High School in 1973 and Santa Clara University in 1977, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

Ted went to work for Merrill Lynch in October of 1977 and spent all 42+ years of his career there as a Vice President and Sr. Financial Advisor. In his spare time Ted enjoyed golfing, gardening, and coaching youth sports.

Ted was so proud of his wife of 31 years, Janet and children Allana and Brett. He is also survived by his brother, Timothy (Lisa); and sister, Kathleen “KC.”

A service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please consider donating to the Jesuit High School Foundation or Evans Scholars.
