Ernest Toglul Obituary

Ernest Toglul, 35, passed away on June 23rd in Gresham, Oregon. He was born on Yap Island, Micronesia on September 4th, 1987. He spent his childhood in the village Maap, until he moved to Maine to attend high school at Fryeberg Academy. He was subsequently accepted into the University of Guam to attend classes in Mangialo.

Ernest was an accomplished Yapese local-style dancer who, at one time, traveled to perform internationally with his dance group. He possessed an adventurous spirit and spent time all over the world, including in many US states, Japan, Saipan, and Guam.

Ernest always enjoyed simple things in life, including reggae/island music, barbequing, and being in nature. He was known and loved for his sense of humor, his good heart, and his love for God.

Ernest is survived by his parents Charles Taman and Christina Guper, sister Stephanie Leelung, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces. He’s remembered fondly by his family and may other he met all over the world – and he is truly missed.
