In 1954 he married Vasiliki (Vaso) Kantianis and in 1955 their daughter Sophia was born. In 1966 he immigrated to Portland, OR where his sister Dena was living and in 1968 Vaso and Sophia followed.

He worked arduously for Burlington Northern Railroad for 29 years and remembered his time working on the railroad and his friends there with great fondness. He would often share memories and stories of that time with his family.

Evangelos will be remembered for his kind and gentle soul, his little chuckle, sweet smile, his love for his family, and his passion for Blazer basketball and WWE wrestling. He is survived by his daughter Sophia and son-in-law Yianni, grandson Yiorgos and his wife Susan, granddaughter Vanda, his sisters Diamanto and Christina, his nephew Spiro, who he loved as a son, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Portland, OR on Friday February 19, 2016 at 1pm. Interment to follow at Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard, OR.
