Faye York Obituary

Faye Fones York passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday, February 17, 2014 in Portland after facing advanced stage dementia for many years.

A native Oregonian, Faye was born at Emanuel Hospital on April 9, 1934. She graduated for Grant High School in 1952 and not long after married the love of her life, Clifton York.

Known for her warm smile, beautiful laugh and elegance, Faye was a loving and compassionate wife, mother and friend. Later in life, she became a fierce advocate for drug prevention among youth and was President of Oregon Free From Drug Abuse.

Faye is survived by her children Cheri, Tom and Brad, brothers Norm and Nick Fones, sister Ednalee, son-in-law Dan Heim and grandsons Michael, Paul, Clif, Rollie and Keil.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sunset Presbyterian Church (14986 N.W. Cornell Rd, Portland, OR) on Saturday, March 1 at 11 a.m.
