February 19, 1927 ~ March 25, 2017 (age 90)
Frances Elaine Keller “Fran”, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully March 25, 2017 at her home in Milwaukie after a short battle with cancer. Fran was born the 2nd of 12 children February 20, 1927 on a ranch in Garfield County, Washington, to John and Albina McGreevy.
She attended a one room grade school in Gould City, Washington, and high school in Pomeroy, Washington. She earned a BA from Holy Names College in 1948. After graduation, she moved to Portland to attend the St. Vincent Hospital Medical Tech Program.
She made many friends in the Chancellor Club of Portland, including William Keller, whom she married June 27, 1953. In addition to raising seven children, Fran enjoyed tennis, played in multiple bridge groups, and spent much time at their home in Cannon Beach. In recent years, she spent many hours volunteering for outreach ministries of St. Agatha Catholic Church, including the Altar Society, the Thrifty Cottage, the Clifford House, and the 55 and Over group. She was a member of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women, the Archbishop’s Seminary Tea Committee as well as a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem.
Fran is survived by her husband of 63 years, William; sons, Joseph (Frances), John (Del), James (Katy), Paul (Kirsten), Robert (Cynthia); and daughters, Margaret Keller, and Anne (Jeff) St. Mary; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Edna Mae Barnes, Patricia Woodward, Thomas McGreevy, and Kenneth McGreevy; and many nieces and nephews.
A Recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, at St. Agatha Church, preceded by a viewing at 6 p, m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Agatha Catholic Church.
A reception will follow at Waverley Country Club. Private interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of St. Agatha.
