George Matsuda Obituary

George Kazuo Matsuda, a Beaverton resident, was born on July 24, 1928, in Portland, and was raised and educated in Portland and Hunt, Idaho, during WWII.

He served in the U.S. Armed Forces from 1946 to 1948. He was a graduate of the University of Portland, worked as a chemist for Charlton Laboratories and the City of Portland, and also served with the Oregon State Police as a lieutenant in the police crime laboratory.

He was a member of the Northwest Association of Forensic Scientists and the American Chemical Society.

He is survived by his wife, May Matsuda; and sister, Kathleen Sato.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at the Stockpot Restaurant, 8200 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road, Beaverton.
