Greg was born in Coos Bay, Oregon, on April 16, 1949. He moved to Portland with his family in 1958, and was graduated from Madison High School in 1967. Greg received his Bachelor’s degree from Portland State University in 1971; his Master of Science degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from Drake University in 1990; and his Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University in 2008. He retired from the State of Oregon in 2014, at the age of 65.

Greg Lived in many different places such as The Dalles, Keizer, and Lake Oswego, in Oregon, as well as Vancouver, Washington.

He was very interested in studying the genealogy of the Wilkes family on Ancestry.com and beyond. He even traveled back to Minnesota to meet relatives. Greg looked forward to buying land for a house in farm-type setting to enjoy during his retirement.

He loved his nieces and nephews, and his grandniece and grandnephews. Greg is survived by his father, Richard Wilkes; his brothers, Garry Wilkes and Randy Wilkes; and his sisters, Teresa Levine and Kathy Wilkes Tabor.
