Gus Kikes Obituary

Gus Peter Kikes, 91, passed away August 28, 2012.

Gus Peter Kikes was born in Portland to Peter and Elene Kikes February 20, 1921. He attended Woodlawn grade and Jefferson High School before serving in the Coast Guard during the war.

After his service, he attended Willamette University and graduated from the University of Oregon School of Business. He was in sales and sales management for over 50 years before retiring in 1990 to Beaverton.

His son Christopher and daughter Marienne preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria; and his son, Tony (Marie); and several nephews and a niece.

Hospice took wonderful care of him in the last few months of his life at his home where he died.

In his memory, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where he was a member for 91 years, two of which he served as chairman of the board.

A funeral will be at the Cathedral Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. with committal at Willamette National Cemetery.
