Harvey Jess Osborn was born June 8, 1928, in Portland, Oregon.  He was the only son of Jess William Osborn and Olive Alice (Lotta) Gordon-Leslie. He died in Portland, Oregon, on August 31, 2019.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

After graduating from Milwaukee Union High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division and playing French horn in the Division marching band.  He attended the University of Portland and Northwestern College of Law, working for the Portland Fire Bureau (Engine 28) before embarking on a long and successful career as a lawyer and businessman, a highlight of which was his association with Cascade Steel Rolling Mills in McMinnville, Oregon, a company for which he was a co-founder and chief executive during the early- and mid-seventies.

He married Eleanor Margaret Killorin on February 11, 1961.  They raised their family and resided together in Portland, Oregon, until her death earlier this year.  With her he shared the lives of their children and grandchildren, always supporting, coaching and nurturing them in all their endeavors.  He was a longtime member of the parish of St Clare Catholic Church, serving in many leadership and volunteer roles both in the school and church.  He was an avid sportsman, enjoying water and snow skiing, parachuting, fly fishing and golf.  His favorite vacation destinations were Sunriver, Oregon, and the many golf courses of Scotland and Ireland.  He lived life triumphantly.

He is survived by his children Matthew Osborn and Elizabeth Boileau (Paul), grand-children Matthew Boileau  (Alyssa), John Boileau, Elizabeth Osborn, Peter Boileau and William Osborn.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at St. Clare Catholic Church in Portland.  A recitation of the rosary will be made at 10:30 am followed by a memorial and funeral mass at 11:00 am.  A reception will follow at the parish.
