His parents were Tatsusaboro Wakabayashi and Chitose Kitayama both born in Okayama-Ken Japan. Hiro was 2nd generation in United States – Nisei-san
Divorced Teruko Gloria Courter with whom he had three Children Cindy, Terri-Ann, and Wayne.
He loved being a gardener; his yard was full of plants, bushes and fruit trees. Passions for fishing, camping, clam digging, mushroom hunting and bowling until the age of 86.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings Jerry Wakabayashi, Kazue Shiraishi, Shigeru Wakabayashi, and Kimiko Wakabayashi
Survived by daughter(s): Cindy & Joe Medina; Terri-Ann & Tom Carrollo and granddaughter Midori; son Wayne Wakabayashi & Kathi Yamamoto; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He will be honored and buried at the Willamette National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 14th 2017 at 3pm. (arrive no later than 2:45pm). 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. Portland, OR 97266. The service will be conducted by Reverend Yuki Sugahara. Please note there is limited seating and requesting donations to be given to your favorite charities in memory of Hiro Wakabayashi.
