Howard Sidney Weaver, born October 24, 1938 (age 83) of Gresham, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Friday, January 7, 2022. He is survived by his children Howard Weaver, Jr. (Deb), Cheryll Bowers, Retha Warren (Rick), Kim Vaylon (Myles), Lynn Iggulden (Ross), and Lori Cook (Brad); 18 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren; his best friend Michael Edeline; and numerous other family and friends. Preceding him in death was his mother Martha, his father Charles “Sid,” his brother Keith, his sisters Ethel and Evelyn, and his beloved wife Dorothy.

Howard was born and raised in Ashland County, Ohio, which is where he met the love of his life Dorothy “Dot.” They enjoyed a 42-year marriage, until her passing in 2005. In 1969, he chose to move his family out west to Gresham, Oregon, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was a dedicated, hard-working man focused on providing for his family. In 1972, he began his career at Small Parts Manufacturing, where he spent the next 38 years working his way up to General Manager until his retirement in 2010. In retirement, with his best buddy Michael always by his side, he spent a lot of time golfing, fishing, hunting, going to drag races, and rebuilding his 1974 Corvette. His greatest golfing feats included getting a hole in one and shooting his age in his 80’s. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. To Howard, everyone was family; he would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was witty, had a contagious laugh, and anyone who knew him has at least one out of this world, memorable story to tell. He was truly one of a kind and his memory will live on through all those who knew and loved him.

A private burial service will be held at Finley Sunset Hills Cemetery on Friday, January 14, 2022, and a Celebration of Life open house will be held at 1032 SE Larch Lane, Gresham, OR on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
