Jack Lee Coalson was born July 27, 1940 in Radford, Virginia. He grew up in Radford and it is where he met and eventually married his wife Mary Louis Thornton, May 5, 1959.
Jack graduated from Virginia Tech University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked for the next 35 years for Hercules Industries which led him and his family to Oregon in 1979.
Jack was a sports enthusiast, spending his free time camping, fishing, supporting his kids, and following his Virginia Tech Hokies. Jack also enjoyed traveling and he and Mary Louis were fortunate to visit various parts of Europe and South America.
Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife, Mary Louis; two sons, Chris and Jay; daughter, Lani; and seven grandchildren, who always loved their time with Papa.
Jack passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer. Jack’s life will be remembered and celebrated in a private ceremony with family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort described in 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 provide comfort for your family. Losing a loved one in death is never easy, but the Bible reassures us in Isaiah 25:8 that soon death will be no more. What a wonderful time that will be for all of us.
I offer my sincere condolences to the family. I know all too well the pain associated with losing a loved in death. I know that Mr. Jack will be missed by many. May the family find comfort in Gods promise to reunite us with our family and friends by means of an earthly resurrection, as well as his promise to remove death forever. (Acts 24:15, Isaiah 25:8, Rev. 21:3,4). I hold these promises dear to my heart and they have brought me so much comfort and I sincerely hope they do the same for your family.
