April 27, 1959 ~ April 3, 2012 (age 52)
James Hendricks, 52, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle and friend died peacefully on April 3, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. James was born April 27, 1959.
The eighth of nine children of John and Virginia Hendricks, James loved working with and helping people, and was always ready to set another plate at the table & welcome a new friend. James will be remembered for his wit, laughter and practical jokes.
James is survived by his daughter, Mariah, the light of his life; wife of 30 years, Martha; mother, Virginia K. Hendricks; one brother; five sisters; many in-laws and adoring nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at Madeleine Church, 3123 N.E. 24th Portland, reception to follow in the Parish Center.
All are welcome at a Celebration of Life potluck immediately following at Billy Webb Elks Lodge, 6 N. Tillamook St.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in James’ name to Madeleine School or Hopewell House, whose gentle care guided James and his family through his final days.
James’ ashes will rest with his father; brother, Paul; and sister, Sarah in Olympia and other places that he cherished.
