April 29, 1922 ~ January 29, 2013 (age 90)
June was born April 28, 1922 and raised in Portland’s Fulton neighborhood to Roy and Ella Moore. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a member of The Church of St. Michael the Archangel. She worked for Meier and Frank Co. and for Huntington Rubber Co.
June married Albert Ralph Carocci in 1942. They were married for 60 years until Al’s death in 2002. June and Al traveled in the U.S., Europe and Asia and cherished the life-long friendships they made along the way.
June’s generosity was evident by her many gifts to family and friends of homemade biscotti, candied figs and baskets full of treasures from her flower beds, fruit trees and vegetable garden. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, managing her rental properties and weekly lunch dates with friends and family. June will be missed dearly. She will be remembered for her steadfast love of and devotion to her family and to friends who were like family to her, her outgoing personality and insatiable curiosity, in-depth knowledge of Portland metro area history and for nurturing a caring relationship with each of her tenants.
Survivors include sons, Albert (Carol) Carocci of Milwaukie and Bruce (Kathie) Carocci of West Linn; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Lance Carocci of West Linn; daughter-in-law, Christine Carocci of Portland; and brother, Lee Moore of Tigard.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al and son, Terry.
The family appreciates all of those who helped to comfort June and lift her spirits with cards, phone calls, visits and gifts. We are especially grateful to Dr. Frederick S. Ey and TLC Adult Care and Odyssey Healthcare, Inc. for the wonderful care they provided her.
Remembrances may be contributed in June’s memory to the Portland Firefighters Memorial: David Campbell Memorial Association c/o Portland Fire & Rescue 55 SW Ash Portland, OR 97204
