July 6, 1933 ~ November 12, 2015 (age 82)
She was born July 6, 1933, in Wolf Point, Montana, to Patrick and Esther Delaney. Her family moved from Montana to Washington and finally to California where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Presentation High School in Berkeley, California, and then went to work for Bank of America as a teller. She met her future husband, Lane, at the Alameda Naval Air Station where he was serving out the final two years of his four year stint. They were married in May of 1954 and moved to Portland where they raised their four children. She enjoyed numerous camping trips with the family and friends, and was a superb cook and baker. She was the ideal mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also immensely proud of her Irish heritage and made St. Patrick’s Day an annual celebration.
Kay is survived by her husband, Lane; children, Scott (Becky), Kelly, Kathi (Fred) Mueller and Janet; grandchildren, Sara (Jeremy), Brian (Shannon), Michael (Jennifer), Stephen, Katie, Christian, Kathleen, Lane, Mark and Meghan; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Elliot and Mackenzie.
A private interment was held in Mount Calvary Cemetery and a celebration of life and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Tualatin. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Providence Hospice Team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
