Leon Ramsey Obituary

Leon Owen Ramsey, a devoted husband and father, was born in Vancouver. Leon came to live with his uncle, George, and aunt, Louise, in Three Lynx (a Portland General Electric Sub-station community).

He attended Three Lynx grade school and graduated from Estacada High School. Leon graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University, where he met his wife, Betty.

Leon was a decorated U.S. Army World War II veteran, receiving the Bronze Star Award. Leon was an office manager for Universal Carloading & Distributing for 30 years.

Leon was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fly fishing, elk and deer hunting, camping and rock hunting. He belonged to the Oregon Agate and Mineral Society and also enjoyed traveling in his R.V., with many happy memories at the Whaler’s Rest R.V. Park in Newport.

Leon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty L.; and daughter, Carol A. Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn.

Donations may be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
