Lewis Crane, Jr Obituary

Lew was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He went to Benson High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Lew worked for the telephone company both in Oregon and California for 39 years and he retired at the age of 62. Lew had a loving ear; if a family member had a problem and needed advise or help he was always there. His family was the most important thing to him.

Besides going to church, he loved receiving communion from a small child as an altar boy. He loved to go out to breakfast or lunch with any family member that could go with him. He lived life to the fullest; his plan was to live to a 100 years old. He will be missed.

Survived by loving partner Joan Purgold. Children: Linda Burge, Thomas Crane and Barbara Ambrosini. Grandchildren: Nancy Belle Isle, Paul Burge, Jr., Thomas Crane, Michael Crane and Tina Ambrosini. 8 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Kathleen Flabetich, Michael Crane and Esther Rehwatt, numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Riverview Abbey Funeral Home, 0319 SW Taylors Ferry Road, Portland, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to OHSU-Knight Cancer Institute-OHSU Home.
