Lida Hazen Obituary

Lida was born January 4, 1919 to Raymond B. and Helen Healy Wilcox in Portland. She attended Miss Catlin’s Hillside school for elementary and high school, then continued her education at Finch College in New York.

Lida married Henry “Hank” Turrish Hazen of Duluth, MN, in 1941 at St. Thomas More Church and continued to reside and raise their six children in Portland throughout their lives. Lida and Hank enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether in the old family home in Gearhart or the warmth of their lovely cottage in Kaanapali, Maui.

Lida will be remembered for her quiet honesty, her kindness toward everyone, and her hilarious non sequiturs; she was a lady. Her gift of always being absolutely fair in her affections and judgment has been an inspiration to all who knew her well.
