February 3, 1919 ~ January 16, 2010 (age 90)
Margaret was born in Heppner, Oregon to Bridget & Patrick
Connell. She was the oldest of 11 children. She graduated from
St. Joseph’s Academy in Pendleton and moved to Portland, where
her family later settled.
She was an executive secretary in the lumber industry and Teamsters Union where she met her husband, Bill O’Connell. She was a meticulous homemaker
and enjoyed playing canasta and bridge with family and friends. Her love of traveling was shared with her husband Bill as they explored Italy and Ireland early in their married life. She shared Bill’s love for the outdoors spending time with him in their cabin by Mt. Hood.
Margaret was appreciative of the attentive loving care from niece Karen Podpah, sister-in-law Ivonne Connell and the caring staff @ Calaroga. She enjoyed time with family that often visited and her Irish humor was with her until the end.
She is survived by her sisters: Elizabeth Krell, Mary Leisinger,
Joan Kurtti, Patricia Connell, Cecilia DeFabio and brother Jim Connell.
36 grand nieces and nephew and numerous greatgrands!
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters: Anamae Connell,
Eleanor Gregory, Rosemary Redlinger and brother John Connell.
