November 29, 1930 ~ January 30, 2018 (age 87)
She was married on September 3, 1950 to Dan McCall of Salem, Oregon. Together they moved in 1952 to a home in North Portland where Dan worked at Peninsula Elementary School and Marjorie worked as a secretary at Nabisco. Following the births of her three children, Marjorie was a stay at home mom until 1967 when she re-entered the workforce as a secretary at United Metal Trades Association. In 1970 she began working for Portland Public Schools as a secretary, first at the Early Childhood Education offices, then at Benson High School, and finally at Cleveland High School, from where she retired in 1983.
Marjorie enjoyed many hobbies and activities her whole life. She liked sports and played competitive volleyball in high school and again later on Park Bureau teams for several years. After retirement, golf became her sport, which she played with enjoyment for many years.
She had a life long interest in sewing and needlecrafts and spent several post-retirement years making crafts for holiday bazaars. She especially enjoyed making clothing and sweaters for her children and grandchildren.
Finally, Marjorie nurtured a green thumb most of her life, enhancing her home landscapes with carefully selected native and heirloom plants that made her yards a pleasure to view at any time of year.
Family was very important to Marjorie. She was happiest when she could get them all together for holidays, special occasions, or simply casual gatherings.
Marjorie McCall is survived by her husband Dan, her son Steven, her daughters Laurie and Tracie, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a large group of loving friends and family.

I had the pleasure to be a part of a team of providers who helped Marge. She was so gracious. She was always concerned with how I and my family was doing. She always thought of others. I remember several times her apologizing for coming to see us so often even though we were always happy to see her and it was our job. That being said, she was never work for us, she was a wonderful person who we had the privileged to serve. Hearing of her passing was a loss for the staff and myself.
