December 5, 1959 ~ September 20, 2021 (age 61)
Mark Irvin Everson was born in Concord, California, on December 5, 1959, and his unexpected passing took place on September 20, 2021, in Canby, Oregon.
His childhood years were spent in Saratoga, California, where he picked up a lifelong love to play guitar at age ten. When he wasn’t practicing guitar, he loved to go swimming with his three siblings. As a family, they went climbing and hiking every weekend at The Pinnacle. He mastered beautiful handwriting as a lefthanded student, a talent instilled by his mother, Kitty Moore. His father, Billy Jim Everson, enrolled him and his younger brother Eric into sailing lessons. The brothers spent many summer days sailing from sunrise to sunset at the Santa Barbara Harbor, where their father passed along a sea of knowledge.
Mark became a devoted husband and father that would thread humor and laughter into his family’s daily lives. There was never a dull moment with his supply of hobbies, including sailing, singing and playing guitar, bowling, and auto-racing in the Portland Grand Prix. He proceeded to find great pleasure in his managerial work at plastics manufacturing plants and as Owner of River City Appliances. Work quickly became a priority, and he began to build a community of colleagues, many that would become lifelong friends.
Mark had returned to Santa Barbara more regularly in his last year of life to tend to his father, who passed away in September 2020. He shared that this final visit to the beloved harbor was likely his last, as he aspired of moving to the Florida coast following retirement to be closer to his children.
He eloquently rose to the persona of being simultaneously hard-working and carefree, the quintessential California spirit. He was someone you could depend on to lift you from a heavy mood, and he would always offer a helping hand. Mark exuded a graceful and welcoming demeanor and would invite anyone to the helm with him.
He is survived by his mother Kitty Moore, a brother, Mike Mansfield, a sister, Gidget Reedy, a brother, Eric Everson, a daughter, Jennifer Everson, a son, Cameron Everson, a stepson, Jesse Unruh, a stepson Tyler, a stepson Houston, a stepson Zach, nieces and nephews.

Mark was my best friend and partner over the span of 10 years give or take and I loved him in my life.
He was an amazing soul and person and he could make me laugh uncontrollably and did quite often. He was an amazing bowler, a good baseball player, loved NASCAR, fishing, camping, dogs, cats, and horses, and his kids and family.
He loved his job at KAI/KERSHAW and worked there many years, he loved his co workers and talked about them constantly. He was recently promoted to Supervisor in his Dept and he was very proud of that after all his hard work there !
Mark could sing and play guitar beautifully, and had recently practicing daily and was so happy about his efforts. He played all sorts of music but He especially loved southern rock. his favorite song to sing was the Allman brothers whipping post and Bob Segars like a rock which I think he thought was his story !
Most recently we spent 3 days over the 4th with my family at the coast and what I wont ever forget is the smile he had on his face while he and my cousin played their guitars for us and everyone danced and sang along. He was in his favorite place at that time and Im forever grateful I got to see him so happy and heard about it from him everyday after. I will miss him until the end of my days and am so thankful for every minute I shared with him. He was my rock in life and his voice will forever play in my ears !

Mark was a much loved nephew of mine. Although we didnt see much of each other, he would always be a part of my heart. I lived with Mark and his 3 siblings for a few years when they were littles. They were like my siblings to me and I babysat them a lot. Mark was all boy and played hard. Loved getting in the dirt and playing with cars and trucks. He had a soft voice, like his dads and so many of his dads qualities. We are all shocked at his passing and pray he is sailing with us dad!
Our sincere condolences to Jen and the Everson family in this difficult time. Love, Becky and Yamil Arbaje
