Mary Anne Grams was born on May 24, 1931 in Portland, Oregon to Michael and Frances Grams. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends, on September 27, 2017 at Providence Portland Hospital.
She graduated from high school at St. Mary’s Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Marylhurst College and her master’s degree at Oregon State University.
She was a math, science, and PE teacher at Clatskanie High School (1952-56), Hillsboro High School (1956-61), and in Portland Public Schools at Jefferson High School (1961-68) and Madison High School (1968-88).
Ms. Grams enjoyed watching sports; playing bridge; and travelling, especially to Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast.
She was a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church.
She was predeceased by her sister, Sister Catherine (Sr. Mary Michaelann) Grams of the Holy Names Order.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Madeleine (St. Mary Magdalene Church), 3123 NE 24th Avenue on Wednesday, October 18th at 11:00 am.
Private burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Academy with Tuition Assistance in the memo line, 1615 SW Fifth Ave., Portland, 97201 or to a charity of your choice.
