Mary Koida Obituary

Mary Koida was born April 06, 1915. Mary passed away on July 14, 2012 in Clackamas at the age of 97.

She was born to parents Yori and Yagoro Kaneko in Beaver Hill in Coos County near North Bend. She attended school in Japan and returned to the U.S. in 1930. In September 1935, she married Minoru Koida and worked in the family greenhouse business for many years. Her husband passed away in November 2010.

She enjoyed crocheting, matsutake hunting, razor clamming, her grand-children and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her five sons, William (Nami), Dr. Robert (Emi), Paul (Mimi), Peter (Karen) and Richard (Kimiko); two sisters, Lilly Takaki and Rulie Yamamoto, both of California; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank John and Linda Rabang for their loving care of our mother.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Remembrances in her memory may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, 1333 S.E. 28th Ave., Portland, OR 97214.
