November 7, 1958 ~ November 24, 2018 (age 60)
Mary Lou Grimes passed away suddenly of natural causes on November 24th. She was born November 7, 1958 in Portland, Oregon to James and Marleen Gravley. She attended Valley Catholic in elementary school and later graduated from Beaverton High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University.
Mary Lou spent four years after college in Washington, DC. While there, she worked for the National Endowment for the Arts and as a congressional staffer. She made many lifelong friendships during that time.
After returning to Oregon, she worked in the insurance industry before taking time off to raise children. She later started her own interior design firm, and she was certifying to tutor children with dyslexia. She was active in the Our Lady of the Lake and Jesuit High School communities.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 24 years, Chris, her daughters Eleanor (19) and Emma (17), her sister Melissa Carter, and countless friends. She was an incredibly devoted wife and mother. Mary Lou left us many wonderful memories of her spirit, her sense of humor, her generosity, her faith, her love, and the incredibly bright light that shown from within her. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Oswego on December 10th, 11:00 am.

My deepest condolences to the family, may you find comfort in prayer and the beautiful words of Isaiah 25:8 where God promises us that He will soon eliminate all death and suffering.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’d like to share some real hope with you. In Psalms 146:4 tells the condition of the dead. In Acts 24:15 the bible promises a resurrection of our loved ones back to earth. When Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead, he brought him back to earth. That was a foregleam of the future. In Psalms 37:11+29 says man will live forever on the earth in peace. That was God’s original purpose, for man to live forever in the garden of eden. God’s purpose hasn’t changed. In Isaiah 45:18 says god created the earth to be inhabited. That’s why he gave his son to die for us, John 3:16, so we could have everlasting life on earth. In Revelation 21:4 says there’ll be no more pain or death. Since there’s no pain or death in heaven, those are future conditions here on earth. http://www.JW.org
