Maureen was born in Oakland, California, to Mary and Joseph Brady. She moved to Portland as a child, graduating from Holy Redeemer Grade School and St. Mary’s Academy.

Maureen married John Gunderson in 1944. She was a homemaker and mother to her children, Richard and Deborah. She was employed at Portland Veterans Hospital as a personnel specialist until retirement.

Following retirement, she and John enjoyed time at their Lincoln City condominium and travels to Hawaii. Following John’s passing, she continued traveling with family and friends.
