Millard L. (Dan) Gardner, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2015. He was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma the youngest of 10 children to Absolom Minoah and Minnie Cornelia. He lived in Oklahoma City until he joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and served in Germany until discharged.

He married Helen Oldham in 1948. They moved to Oregon in 1960 where he worked in newspaper production and retired from The Oregonian in 1986.

Millard was preceded in death by his beloved wife.

He is survived by his two children Gregory E. and Kristina L. Gardner both of Portland; four grandchildren: Laura Buhman, Tempe AZ; Amy Spindt, Kalaheo HI: David Gardner and Deanna Seibold, both of Portland. At the time of his death he was the proud great-grandfather of six.

A private family memorial service will be held for Millard and Helen this summer in the high Cascade lakes area of Oregon.
