Mina Stone Obituary

Mina Kay Stone was born on July 2, 1957 in Hayden, Colorado to Art and Barb Fredrickson. She passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at her home in Portland.

Mina grew up in Sandy, Oregon and graduated from Sandy High School. Mina worked as a paralegal for 25 years in Portland and was one of the top paralegals in Oregon.

Mina Kay Fredrickson and Dale Richard Stone were married on May 28th, 1983, the hottest day of the year, about 107 degrees. This year would have been their 30th wedding anniversary.

Mina was a country girl at heart. She loved the outdoors especially the Oregon Coast. She loved animals. Mina loved to cook and was great at preparing biscuits and gravy. She was always doing things for her children and always put others before herself. She is a beloved mother, wife and daughter. Mina had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ. She lived life to the fullest, loved going on adventures, would always try anything once. Always had a big smile, loved to laugh out loud. While most parents can’t wait for their kids to leave the nest she would have been perfectly happy for Amanda and Samantha to live at home forever. She loved staying home with her girls while they were young. She always made homemade Halloween costumes and was always the neighborhood Mom. Mina had the heart of a saint, she would do anything to make anyone else happy.

Amanda, Sam and Dale…There are no words that can express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Mina was such a wonderful person and like a second mom to me growing up. Amanda, you and I were best friends growing up and while we lost touch for some time once we started college, your family had always been a big part of my life. From the play dates to softball games and carpooling to and from school, Mina was always around and always had a smile. I can still hear her calling me Lizzy. Remember the good moments and cherish those memories. You all are in my heart and my families hearts. Sending many hugs!!!

Mina was always a pleasure to work with at BHB. We only actually worked together on a couple of cases but always worked “near” each other. I can hear her laughter and see that great big smile every time I think of her. My heart goes out to her family and especially her daughters, she was so proud of you. I last spoke with her right before Christmas and of course your names came up as they most often did. Love and prayers to all of you at this most difficult time……

My dearest Mina. I have so many dear memories I will cherish. We had so many amazing times in our younger years. Beach-mountains-weddings-child birth-playdates-lists go on. As my love and connection with u will. It has been along time since we spent time together but I never gave up hope of us reconnecting, and I still wont. I will see you in Paradise one day. I love you Mina and that will never die. See you later precious!

Dear Mina,

As you look down and see all the folks who thought so much of you and see how much you meant to all of us, I know you are smiling and you are happy and you are at peace. I so enjoyed our lunches and get togethers, you Mary and I. We chatted non-stop about work, BHB, our kids and news of all the BHBers who are embarking on new careers. I was so excited when you began your new job. I looked forward to our regular lunches as we explored new places to eat!

I admired you for your knowledge and professionalism. You were one of the best and many of us looked up to you for guidance and direction. Mina, you always look so classy and professional and I cannot believe that just days ago we were chatting at lunch. It is so hard to understand that you are gone. I know you are in the best place and that is comforting. What a loss our legal community has suffered… … … … I hope you are singing your praises with our friend Jeremy and I hope you know all the lives you have touched and I am better legal secretary because of you my friend. God bless you.

To Mina’s Family, what a treasure you have in a daughter, wife and mother and sister. I feel I know all of you well through all our sharing of our families over the years. You were her shining star and she lit up when we chatted about all of you. I know how proud she was of Samantha and Amanda. What a gift you have in your hearts forever. I wish you were not going through this, but I know one day you will be able to smile at a memory and time will help you heal. God bless you all, I know Mina is holding you in her hands and heart.

Dale, Sam and Amanda – We have many many fond memories of our two young families growing up together at Burlingame. We will never forget Mina’s smile and indomitable spirit. She was Violet’s work buddy at Bullivant and her friendship and support meant so much. We will see her again soon and look forward to a big Burlingame reunion in Heaven. Love you! Praying for you! I’m still in disbelief. Mina and I shared a lot together working on the Doug Houser team. We traveled to Cleveland, Ohio for trial which was lots of fun. She talked about the girls all the time. She was a good friend and I wish I had told her more how much she was loved.

My heart goes out to you and your family… Mina was incredible. I learned so much from her over the years. Though I talked to her more over the phone, she did bless us with visits to the Seattle office now and again. Her smile, laugh, and generousity in wanting to help make things easier. She will be dearly missed..

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Mina was an amazing person and I feel so blessed to have known her. She was a fun cube mate, an incredible mentor and was blessed with an inate ability to lift up those around her. Any conversation about her family would bring a twinkle to her eyes and a smile on her face. She was truly a joy to be around and willing to do anything for anybody. May the Lord Jesus be with you until you can be reunited as a family. “Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full.”

Mina was like a lovely whirlwind when I first met her many years ago. So vibrant and energetic, bright, quick-witted, funny, lovely, had a terrific smile. She was an excellent person through and through, a kind soul, and at BHB, always an excellent worker. My prayers and love go out to her family at this time. Mina is now in perfect peace with our Heavenly Father.

I worked with Mina at BHB for many years as I also supported Doug by doing his billings. Mina was a joy to work with. I can still hear her laughter – she had a way of making me smile when I was having a bad day. My heart goes out to Dale and her girls, she will truly be missed.

Our prayers go out to the Stone )family, we would like to express our condolences at this time to your family. The Bible is a great source of encouragement at times like this, a comforting thought is at Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”
